Company History

Started in 1987 by Chris Lewis, Spectral Response has grown steadily under his direction, and today our revenue places us in the top 100 contract manufactures in the world. Mr. Lewis built the company on integrity, loyalty, customer focus and dedication to the employees. These principles are at the core of everything we do today. Our employees and, in fact, our customers tend to join the company and stay. We have several customer relationships that date back to the beginning of Spectral Response. Our employee turnover and workforce are very stable; 20% of the Spectral Response workforce has been with the company for more than 10 years. This is a testament to Chris’ philosophy and dedication.

You will not also see a direct reference to quality and our high standards. Although we achieved our ISO 9000 certification in early 1998 and medical certification in 2003, we don’t use this information as a sales pitch. Chris has always felt that you don’t buy a refrigerator and ask if it will work when you get home, rather, you expect it to.  Consequently, our certifications are a given because, quite simply, we follow Chris’s basic philosophy of providing the quality you require. We make it right the first time!

Customer focus has long been a hallmark of Spectral Response. Throughout our history it has been our custom to find ways to service our customers. This often means taking on challenges from our customers when answers are not readily available. This philosophy has gained recognition nationally and locally. Spectral Response and our processes landed on the front page of Managing Automation and recently we were nominated for Georgia’s Manufacturer of the Year.

Employee focus and the Lewis family’s dedication to the employees have yielded longevity. Additionally, Chris has also helped secure his employees’ futures. In October 2002, Spectral Response became an employee owned company. Now the employees have a vested interest in making us successful and doing what’s needed for all our customers.
